Terms of Service

Version 1.4 · Last updated 23 August 2026

These terms are written by the Calmplate team and are available in English only.

Who provides Calmplate

Calmplate is currently developed and operated by its founders. Calmplate is not operated by a company or other legal entity at this time.

Contact: calmplatesupport@gmail.com — or use Settings → Contact support in the app.

Using Calmplate

By creating an account you agree to these terms. Calmplate is a consumer food-management and meal-planning service intended for your own personal, household use — planning meals, keeping track of the food in your kitchen, writing shopping lists and sharing with friends or the people you live with.

Calmplate is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will publish separate terms for them before they apply to you.

Your account

Keep your login details to yourself — you are responsible for activity under your account. Pick a username that isn't misleading or offensive; we may reclaim usernames that impersonate someone else. Contact support if you think someone else is using your account.

Age

You must be old enough to use Calmplate and to consent to the processing of your personal data under the law that applies where you live. Where no higher age applies, you must be at least 13. Calmplate is not designed for children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for or collect data from children below the age required by applicable law. If you believe a child has an account, contact support and we will remove it.

Acceptable use

  • No harassment, hate, sexual content involving minors, or illegal content.
  • No spam, scraping, automated abuse, or attempts to break our security.
  • No abusing the referral programme with fake or duplicate accounts.
  • Profiles, reviews and reports pass through automated moderation. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

AI-generated content — please double-check

Meal plans, recipes, ingredient lists, cooking instructions, price estimates, expiry-date readings, food and receipt recognition, translations and other AI suggestions in Calmplate are generated automatically and can be incomplete, inaccurate or simply wrong.

Calmplate is not a medical, nutrition-treatment or food-safety service, and nothing in the app is advice about your health. You remain responsible for checking ingredients, allergens, dietary restrictions, expiry and best-before information, safe storage and cooking, and anything else that matters for the food you eat. Price figures are rough estimates for budgeting, not prices from any shop. If you have an allergy, intolerance or a medical condition, follow the packaging and the advice of a qualified professional rather than the app.

Our intellectual property

Calmplate's software, app design, branding, logos, name, visual assets and the other materials we provide are owned by or licensed to Calmplate and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Using the app doesn't give you ownership of any of it, and it doesn't affect your own content — the meals, photos, reviews and text you add stay yours.

Your content

You keep ownership of the meals, photos, reviews and text you add to Calmplate. You give us only the permissions reasonably necessary to run the service for you: to store your content, process it (including sending the relevant parts to our AI provider so an AI feature you used can work), display it to the people you choose to share it with, and operate, maintain and secure the app. We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not use it to advertise or to promote Calmplate without asking you first.

These permissions end when you delete the content or your account. As described in the Privacy Policy, some information may remain for a limited time afterwards — for example in system backups or security records, in moderation or abuse records where we need them to enforce these terms, where the law requires us to keep it, or in copies other members already received because you shared content with them.

Sharing and households

When you join a household you share that household's fridge, pantry, grocery list, plan and activity with its other members, including which member added or used an item. When you share a meal, review or profile with a friend, they can keep and use it inside the app. Only share what you are comfortable with those people seeing. Leaving a household removes your access to it; if you own it and leave, ownership passes to another member, and content you added to the shared household stays with the household.

Third-party services

Calmplate is built on third-party infrastructure and services — hosting, database, authentication and file storage, an edge network that runs our server code, an AI provider for the AI features, an email provider for support replies, and a public product database for barcode lookups. These are listed in the Privacy Policy. If one of them is unavailable, rate-limited or changes its service, parts of Calmplate may be slow, degraded or temporarily unavailable, and we are not responsible for those providers' own services.

Availability

Calmplate is provided "as is" and features may change. We take reasonable steps to keep Calmplate available and to protect stored data, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or that data will never be lost.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss, lost data, or loss arising from your reliance on AI-generated content. However, nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or remedy you have that cannot legally be excluded or limited — including mandatory consumer rights and liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep the protections given to you by the law of the country you live in.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account, which removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Calmplate changes. When we do, we update the version number and date at the top of this page. For material changes we will also tell you in the app and summarise what changed, and — where notice is required — give you reasonable notice before the change takes effect, so you can review it or delete your account if you disagree. Minor corrections, such as clarified wording, take effect when published. This does not affect rights you have under applicable law.
